Women’s Health Forum

I was priviledged to talk about essential oils at a Women’s Health Forum in Pella, IA. What a wonderful event. Some of the speakers included Sheryl Ellinwood (she wrote the book on breast cancer prevention, Empowered), Paula Fontinel talked about the power of plants, Dr. Zachary Watkins talked about nutrition, Sue Horton talked about hormonal balancing, Lisa Walknitz talked about thermography, Sheree Clark talked about raw foods and gave all us a sample of a raw chocolate cake.

Sheryl Ellenwood did a fantastic job of putting this forum together so that women can learn that there are ways to help prevent breast cancer – she states “90 percent of all breast cancer is preventable”. Sheryl presented ways to prevent breast cancer through specific dietary and lifestyle changes, foods and supplements proven to reduce breast cancer risk and certain health conditions, including hormonal issues, that can lead to breast cancer. In her book, Empowered, Sheryl presents a separate chapter for each of the current treatments for breast cancer; radiation, chemotherapy and mastectomy. She provides crucial information on each of these treatment options that women are not likely to hear from their doctors, along with alternative, less toxic treatment that may offer better results.

Sue Horton is a registered pharmacist and for the past 18 years she has specialized in the compounding of bio-identical hormones. She is the founder and owner of Central Iowa Compounding located in Urbandale, Iowa. She teaches monthly classes on bio-identical hormones. She and Lisa Waknitz have started a joint venture in bringing thermography to central Iowa. Lisa explained how thermography can detect vascular patterns of the breasts and can detect cancer before it spreads.

Anne McCullough is a certified yoga instructor and explained how yoga can help the body detox through the circulatory, digestive and lymph systems. She then took the group through a wonderful 30 minutes of yoga.

Sheree Clark is a holistic health and nutrition counselor and she talked about Raw foods and how it changed her health and life. She prepared a wonderful raw chocolate cake for the group. It was delicious!!

This forum was such a huge success that plans are in the works for another one next year. If you live in the Iowa area, don’t miss it.

Essential Oil diffuser

I am really enjoying my new diffuser from Young Living. I have all three types of diffusers and enjoy using all three these days. My house smells so wonderful and I know that airborne pathogens are eliminated. I have a few favorites to diffuse: Young Living’s Thieves is one and I also diffuse Lemon essential oil.

Here is Toby explaining how to use the newest home diffuser.

H.E.A.R.T.

I just finished a course called H.E.A.R.T. which stands for Holistic Energy Activation and Realignment Therapy and I am so excited about being able to teach this in the coming year.  I had some amazing teachers:  Dr. Sherry Bresnahan, Dr. John D’Amanda, Dr. Julie and Greg Montgomery, and Dr. Sherrie Reimers.  Together this team has over 60 years of alternative health care knowledge.  Their hope is to share and teach this technique with others so that everyday folks can help with their own health care needs at home.  This technique brings balance to all body systems.  Please let me know if you are interested in attending any H.E.A.R.T. classes in 2010.

I would like to share a book that I am reading called Empowered: A Woman-to-Woman Guide to Preventing and Surviving Breast Cancer by Sheryl Ellinwood.  Sheryl  was diagnosed with breast cancer and this is her story about how she survived through dietary and lifestyle changes.  She also has a blog where she shares newly discovered information and resources related to breast cancer prevention and treatment.  Sheryl’s website is focused on helping women to understand all their breast cancer treatment options.  You can buy her book at her website and do check out her bracelets.

Here are just a few things covered in Empowered that you will not learn from your doctor:

  • Taxanes (a widely used and very toxic chemotherapy drug for breast cancer) has now been determined by the National Cancer Institute to be ineffective for certain types of breast cancer. These drugs are still continuing to be prescribed by most oncologists.
  • Specific foods containing growth hormones should be avoided by all women with hormone receptive breast cancer.
  • Did you know that in order for chemotherapy drugs to be considered “effective” they only need to create some change in a tumor for 28 days?
  • One class of anti-depressant drugs doubles a woman’s risk of breast cancer. Another class of anti-depressants renders Tamoxifen ineffective (Tamoxifen is given to women with hormone receptive breast cancers)
  • Radiation and chemotherapy cannot kill all cancer cells and the damage they cause to healthy cells may cause another cancer to start.
  • Radiation to the breast causes tissue damage which makes a recurrence harder to detect.
  • Many personal care products contain substances known to cause breast cancer.
  • Specific supplements have been identified and studied showing an ability to prevent metastases.
  • Taking Vitamin D can decrease your risk of Breast cancer by 50%.
  • Both radiation and chemotherapy can cause heart damage.

Sheryl tells us in her book “Breast cancer doesn’t just happen. By understanding the causes, it can be prevented. If you’ve already been diagnosed with breast cancer, fully understanding your specific type of breast cancer is crucial. That understanding will allow you to make appropriate treatment decisions. Knowing the risks and benefits associated with each treatment is also necessary in making treatment decisions. Radiation, chemotherapy or mastectomy alone may not prevent a recurrence. Determining what health factors may have caused your breast cancer, and correcting those that you can, is the most effective defense against breast cancer”.

Do check out the following review of her book.

Why no pink ribbon on these bracelets?

The pink ribbon campaign is focused on awareness and early detection through mammograms.  Sheryl tells us – it  is time to move beyond this to a campaign that focuses on a truly life-saving message—prevention. It’s time to start pushing for more funding for research on prevention, instead of drugs. It’s time to start disseminating crucial information about known dietary changes that will reduce the risk of getting breast cancer. It’s time to ban cancer causing toxins from use in our food, environment and cosmetics. That’s the campaign that I support.  The pinkempower bracelet is focused on empowering women with the knowledge to prevent and fight breast cancer. It is a gift that every woman will want to buy for her girlfriends!

The pinkempower bracelet is made of silver-plated and glass beads with a 2” extender.

It is available in 3 designs; Round, Oval, or the new Round design with square glass beads. All bracelets are packaged in an attractive metal tin.

You can purchase the bracelets at the following locations.

Mike Adams, The Health Ranger writes in his Natural News about how the DFA threatens to seize all natural products that dare to mention H1N1 Swine flu.  Read his article at Natural News.

One of our Diamond leaders recently talked about ImmuPro and how powerful it was in fighting cancer so I decided to do a bit of research and found some information to share with everyone about ImmuPro.  I think you will agree there are some very powerful cancer fighting properties in a lot of the ingredients/compounds found in ImmuPro.  I have taken it just to enhance my immune system.  The first time I took the ImmuPro was in the early afternoon and found myself falling asleep.  I now use ImmuPro only at night. I would be interested to hear if anyone else is using ImmuPro and the results they are experiencing.

Here is an excerpt from Training Tape # 41 “Amazing New Products” 2002

On this tape Gary talks about CortiStop, ImmuPro and Longevity.  The following is an excerpt on ImmuPro and following the excerpt is scientific studies I found.

“…ImmuPro…Our next product..one that I am really excited about, because again, it is a product we have used at the Clinic and with which we have seen phenomenal results.  We have tremendous research documenting the effects of this product, and now it will be yours.  This product is primarily made up of lycium polysaccharide.  It is the primary element in the wolfberry that has been found to augment and enhance the immune system, decrease tumor cell growth, and help in the promotion of longevity.  It is one of the most important immune stimulating discoveries that has been made in the last decade–even in the last two decades.   Research at the Department of Microbiology tested wolfberry polysaccharide and immune therapy on 79 advanced cancer patients.  Treatment using the polysaccharide markedly increased in natural killer cells.  In addition, polysaccharide more than doubled the effectiveness of interleukin-2 immune therapy.

It is important for you to know that when they are using natural ingredients they always try to couple it with another compound.  This was very interesting to me because I also have found that when I compound ingredients that is when we find the greatest results, and we have definitely seen and proven that over the years with our blends of oils.

Medical college researchers concluded that lycium polysaccharides were highly effective in promoting immunity.  The lycium fruit was effective in avoiding the decrease in the number of white cells.  We have watched this with our patients at the Clinic and we have taken another step further again.  Mark is the one who pushed this forward and brought it to completion for us.

Agarius, one of the most powerful stimulants yet to be discovered, is a medicinal mushroom from Brazil that contains a rich complex of betaglukins, a type of polysaccharide which stimulates both humoral B-cells and cell media T-cells immunity.
